Understanding and Mirroring Emotions

Access for residents of Quebec

This session is intended for Caregivers, Patients, Professionals

Listening to someone’s feelings presupposes an empathetic stance and an ability to identify with what the other is sharing with you. Listening to someone’s emotional resonance is to render the other’s underlying needs possible – by tapping into a radiant source of energy.

When a caregiver is caring for someone who is ill, they are providing emotional support without necessarily being aware of it because they are constantly preoccupied for the well-being of the person who is suffering. Emotional support aims to reestablish a sense of unison relating to your health by creating self-awareness and restoring an inner harmony.

During this conference we will touch upon what emotional support means to the caregiver and the impact it can have not only on the person who is afflicted but the caregiver as well.

This conference will enable us to touch upon and master this skill as well as to allow for the suffering of the other to emerge. Another goal will be to restore your emotional well-being and inner harmony by discussing self-awareness. This recognition of oneself will allow you to better manage on a daily basis the problems associated with anxiety, stress, low self-esteem and conflicting emotions.

*Please note this conference is in French but questions are welcome in English during the question and answer period*.
